Renewal Time for your Living Room ?

Here are ten ways to bring some freshness and vitality to your living room in a cost effective manner

Living Off the Wall ---- Get the sofas off the walls and position them in new creative ways to make for an interesting setting. Furniture can be moved around to new alignments.

Roll it On ----Paint one of the walls in an accent colour. Note--make sure it goes with the overall decor. Add some stenciling on the wall or use wallpaper in a niche.

Cabintery Revamp---Give your cabinetry a new look by putting some interesting handles in place of the old ones, or painting it in a funky new finish. It will completely change the look of your furniture.

Lens View ----Got some interesting photos from recent travels ? Frame them and put them on a wall !! Make a corner interesting using pics. Next time you have guests over it will make for some interesting conversation.

Go Green---- No, I am not talking about an eco revamp of the house :) Just some nice plants and interesting planters. Place them differently than you had earlier.

Luxe Indulgence----Get some interesting cushions in soft, luxurious fabrics. Pick up an interesting area rug to spice up the floor.

Accessorise--- Go shopping for coasters, candles and interesting accessories for a coffee table or a console.

Light up --- Pick up an interesting floor lamp for a corner you want to highlight or a decorative table lamp to spruce up a side table.

Aromatherapy--- Invest in a diffuser and try out some new fragrances. Enjoy the soothing effect it has on your senses.

Reflect Change --- A mirror is the best way to add some zing to a room. It completely changes the look of the space. Place it correctly so that you can optimise its appeal.

I like the ideas. The one about redoing an old cabinet is a good one. I have some old pieces that are in bad shape but would not mind if they can look new in some way.

Hi Six Degrees

Yes, the possibilities of revamping old furniture are many. One should definitely explore the options before considering junking it. I find that its eco-friendly to conserve and renew the pieces we have in some form.
